E ach year
at dawn on April 25, the New Zealand Embassy commemorates
ANZAC
(Australia New Zealand Army Corps)* Day to recognise the sacrifices
that New Zealand soldiers have made
- not only in defending
their country, but also in upholding New Zealand's longstanding commitment to
peace and security.
To
mark this special occasion for 2004, the New Zealand Embassy and the Australian Embassy are co-hosting a program of events to which all are
welcome. These include:
Dawn
Service
The N.Z. Embassy, in partnership with the U.S.
Department of Labour and the Australian Embassy, will host a Dawn
Service at the
Korean War Veterans
Memorial in Washington DC.

'Gunfire Breakfast'

Commemorative Church Service
The Australian Embassy, in partnership with the
New Zealand Embassy, will also
host a Commemorative Service at the Washington Cathedral to mark ANZAC
Day.
