on Thursday, April 22, 2004, at 6:30 p.m.

Tim Keating graduated from Officer Cadet School in 1982 and was commissioned as an infantry officer. He joined the SAS as a troop commander in 1986 and rose through the ranks to become its Commanding Officer, 1999-2001. His SAS experience includes a year as the New Zealand Senior National Officer with the Multi-National Force and Observers in the Sinai, 1996-1997. In 2001 he was posted as Commandant of the Officer Cadet School of New Zealand. He has spent the current academic year as a student at the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
